Let's
Come Together
Acts 2:42-47
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’
doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and
in prayers. And fear came upon every soul; and many
wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all
that believed were together, and had all things common;
And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them
to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing
daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread
from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness
and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour
with all the people. And the Lord added to the church
daily such as should be saved.”

Background
The "Let's Come Together" Capital
Campaign is a direct result of the Vision & Planning
Retreat that took place on November 7 - 8, 2008. During
the retreat, the Pastor, Senior Staff, Deacons, Trustees
and other ministry leaders spent time thinking strategically
about C.A.B.C. and how we might be more effective at
fulfilling the mission that God has given us in our
community and the world.
We closed the session by prioritizing a list of challenges
and needs to address. We further agreed that there would
be a need for a campaign to raise the necessary funds
to finance the projects. The "Let's Come Together"
campaign and this committee are a direct response to
the needs expressed at the retreat.
The Capital Campaign Committee consists of the following
individuals, although it can and should be expanded
as the need arises.

What's the goal?
The proposed goal is to raise an additional
$2 million over and above our normal Tithes & Offerings
in the church during the next 3 years, June 2009 - June
2012. This represents the needs for Phase 1 of the overall
vision.
What's the vision?
The proposed usage for the funds raised in
the campaign is as follows:
1) Purchase and install an Elevator for the Main Sanctuary
building An elevator will help the Senior Citizens and
the physically-challenged have easier access to the
sanctuary. The elevator would service the Lower level,
street level, sanctuary level, and balcony level.
2) Complete projects that will make the Educational
building more compliant with ADA and safety standards
Our Educational Building is an asset that we cannot
currently use to its fullest potential because of some
basic modifications that need to be made to it. A manageable
list of needed projects will be completed in the building
so that we may more effectively utilize it for the needs
of the church and the community.
3) Renovate/Rehab all bathrooms in the Sanctuary building
and on the first floor of the Educational building.
Our restroom facilities are in need of renovation for
the sake of cleanliness, the safety of our membership
and the general public. We should have new state-of-the-art
restroom facilities throughout the building.
4) Invest in a new state-of-the-art sound system for
the main sanctuary building. Our sound system, speakers,
microphones and control board need to be significantly
upgraded in order to facilitate better hearing in every
part of the sanctuary and the lecture hall. Additionally,
the controls for the sound system should be moved to
a location that more readily facilitates control of
the system during worship.
