Message from the Pastor

My Dear Convent Avenue Baptist Church Family, The official kick-off of the, “Let’s Come Together Capital Campaign” is here! What an exciting time it is to participate in the building up of God’s kingdom here in the Harlem Community.

As we lay the initial groundwork for the vision God has established for our church, it is my prayer that each of us sought God for guidance in making pledge commitments. The fulfillment of God’s vision for Convent cannot be done by a handful of persons. The weight of this assignment must be shared by all of us.

I realize that this is a major sacrifice for each of us today during these tough economic times and that there will be some bumps along the way. However, let us not forget that throughout history God has a proven track record of provision for God’s people when there is obedience to God’s will. I am clear that as Convent moves forward in this direction, we will witness the power of God in ways that the previous Pastors prayed we would experience.

As we walk boldly with great expectation of what God is about to do in our congregation and eventually the surrounding community, I want to personally thank each you for embracing the vision with your hearts and by having a mind to work.
