Matthew 25:35-36…”Naked and
ye clothed me”.
The Homeless Ministry at Convent is an outreach ministry
which supports the street homeless and the homeless in shelters.
The Homeless Ministry provides spiritual guidance and referral
information to those affected by social dilemmas and systemic
problems that plague our society.
Quarterly outreaches are sponsored outside the environs
of the church whereby clothes and household articles are
distributed. The Homeless Ministry also collaborates with
other ministries within the church to foster the spread
of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The ministry has adopted the Convent Avenue Living Shelter
and sponsors an annual Christmas celebration, distributing
toys; the word of God is preached, followed by a hot fellowship
meal.
For the past 5 years, the Homeless Ministry of Convent
has partnered with the NYC Rescue Mission in lower Manhattan,
feeding the street homeless.
Clothing is distributed weekly from our “Clothes
Closet” to anyone in need of assistance.
We welcome new members to become a part of this vital social
action ministry of our church.
The Homeless Ministry meets
every 1st Sunday of the month in Room 101 in the Education
Bldg.
