Minister
Evelyn Perkins
Evelyn Perkins is a native of Alabama. She’s the daughter
of the Rev. John P. Perkins and Gladys Perkins’ of Shelby,
Alabama. She’s one of twelve siblings, and the mother
of one adult Son, Michael. Evelyn has been a member of the
Convent Avenue Baptist Church for over seventeen years. On
March 9, 2009 Evelyn preached her initial sermon and became
licensed to preach the Gospel by the Convent Avenue Baptist
Church on March 9, 2009, under the leadership of the Rev.
Dr. Jesse T. Williams, Jr. where she is currently an Associate
Minister. She’s an active member of the following ministries
such as: 7 A.M. Sunrise Praise and Prayer Ministry, the Greater
Harlem Nursing Home Ministry, the Yes We Care Ministry, Wednesday’s
Bible Study Coordinator and Worship Leader. These are a few
of the ministries that I am affiliated with.
Some of her academic credentials and work experiences include
a Master’s of Science Degree from the Fordham University
at Lincoln Center in Leadership, Adult Education and Human
Resource Development, May 1997; a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Psychology with Honors from the College of New Rochelle,
August 1995; and an Associate of Arts Degree from Borough
of Manhattan Community College, May 1976 (New York). Evelyn
is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity Degree
from New York Theological Seminary, New York. She has worked
in many areas of the business world such as: Public School
Teacher, The City of New York, Districts 11 & 9; Adjunct
Instructor for the College of New Rochelle, Co-op City Campus,
Telecommunications Nynex (Verizon), New York Theological Seminary
as an Administrator, and Uth Turn as an Intern. She has also
served as the Delegate Representative for the United Federations
of Teachers and on the Election Committee for the Riverbay
Corporation Board of Directors.
