Rev.
Brenda Price
Rev. Brenda Price is an ordained minister at the Convent
Avenue Baptist Church where she is currently the Minister
of Social Services.
A native of New York City, Brenda Price is a journalism graduate
of City College of New York. After a traumatic incident in
her life Brenda returned to the church of her childhood and
following the leading of the Holy Spirit rejoined the Lord
and the church. Following many years of study she became a
Sunday School Teacher but the Lord was not content to let
her stay there. In 1989 she was licensed to preach the gospel
of Jesus Christ and was ordained in 1995 by the Convent Avenue
Baptist Church.
Rev. Price has served as the Minister of Social Services
since 2002. The Ministry of Social Services seeks to identify
and address the needs of our all community members through
the different government and social services agencies in Harlem
and New York City. Rev. Price has created a senior citizen
program called S.C.A.M.P. (Senior Citizen Advocacy and Monitoring
Program). This program is enabling the church to identify,
contact and fellowship with the many seniors over the age
80 in the church.
Rev. Price has served as a Bible teacher, workshop leader,
teacher trainer, Youth Worship leader, supply preacher and
a prayer warrior. She has also served as a consultant to other
churches to help as needed. She received her Masters of Divinity
degree from Alliance Theology Seminary in Nyack, New York.
Rev. Price has performed missionary journeys to the Caribbean
and Africa and hopes to do other another short term assignment
to Africa in the near future. Rev. Price is a Bereavement
Group Leader. She, along with her associates, has formed the
Pioneer Bereavement Support Circle designed to conduct grief
support groups and bereavement sensitivity training for the
community and those in mourning.
Personally, Rev. Price says, "I am a child of God.
I am fully persuaded that Jesus died on the cross paying the
penalty for my sins and arose alive from the grave three days
later. Reconciling oneself to God should be the goal of all
human life. The purpose of my preaching is that all would
be reconciled to Lord and enjoy him."
